1
This is why I am presenting the best sickness remedy to you. Ginger infused honey.
This is not only effective for colds and fly, but for sooth throat as well. It has a great taste and has amazing leftovers. It is also used in many East Asian recipe that requires a touch of sweetness.
Honey has anti-bacterial properties, sooths the sore, scratchy or itchy throats. It is able to diminish allergy symptoms and make you more tolerant to pollen. This is because of the traces of pollen in its structure, which can stimulate the body to create antibodies to the pollen. This will lower the levels of histamine your body produces, which eases the allergy. It is also rich with antioxidants which are helpful in the fight against every disease including the Alzheimer’s. You will reduce the coughing through the night if you take one teaspoon of honey half an hour before sleeping. It promotes the secretion of serotonin which is later transformed into melatonin. Melatonin makes you fall asleep.
Ginger is a potent antioxidant and is very helpful for the people who suffer from arthritis. It is helpful for the sickness during pregnancy and prevents the occurrence of colorectal cancer.
Ginger Infused Honey
You will need:
  • Candy Thermometer
  • A double boiler/or a heat safe bowl and a pot
  • Sterilized containers with cover (salad dressing containers, mason jars)
  • 2 cups of honey
  • 1 ½ inches of fresh ginger root or 2 tablespoons of dried ginger
Directions:
  1. Remove the skin and cut your ginger into thin slices. You can also shred it if you like.
  2. Put the honey in the top of the double boiler with some water at the bottom.
  3. Put the ginger in the honey and allow the water to boil
  4. Check the honey with the candy thermometer
  5. Once it comes to 185° maintain the same heat for 10 minutes.
  6. Put it aside and leave it to cool down for 10 minutes.
  7. Filtrate the ginger and put it into the sterilized containers.
  8. In case you have sliced your ginger, you should keep it- it is honey-glazed ginger that is very beneficial for your stomach.
Note:
In case you decide to slice your ginger, you can add a little bit of honey to your ginger root because it will preserve it. The more the ginger stays like this, the more infused it becomes and the tastier it is.
You can do the same with the shredded ginger and add it in any other recipe you are preparing.
