10 Things That You Have To Keep Away From Your Face!

This is a list of 10 things you should avoid and keep away from your face.

Body lotion

By reading its name, you can see that this lotion is not for your face, but for your body only. Research shows that the skin of your face is different than the skin of your body, which is much thicker. In this way, the skin needs to be moisturized by the bigger percentage of fragrances included in the body lotion.

You should treat your face with a face lotion, even though not every body lotion can cause damage.

Sugar

We mentioned above that the facial skin is different than the skin of the body, it’s less resilient. Using sugar can roughly damage your face skin, as its used for scrubbing legs or other parts of the body, but not the face. Even though many face lotions contain sugar, is the best not to use it on your face.

Lemon

Lemon is full of acids, which can erupt your skin and disrupt pH balance. By putting lemon on your face and exposing it to the sun, your skin may get irritated and burnt.

Hairspray

Hairspray is used on hair, but in contact with your facial skin, it could damage it by drying it and clogging the pores which could result in an irritated skin, full of blemishes. Even though many DIY products claim that hairspray can be used for treating the skin by drying acne, they all are efficient in one thing: damaging your skin.

Toothpaste

Drying acne with toothpaste is an old remedy used long time before. You can use it to dry zits too, but you can get your skin irritated. Chemical burns, scars or other damages can follow. If you want to protect your skin, the best solution to use is tea tree oil. It won’t harm your skin in any case.

Baking soda

Many people would use baking soda as a scrubber for the skin, but this is not a good idea. The rough texture and consistency, which are the main properties of baking soda would change the pH balance which will result in damaging the skin and preventing it from maintaining the moisture.

Rubbing alcohol

Alcohol is used widely for treating wounds and infections as it sterilizes them. But, it should not be used on your face, as it will drastically dry the skin. In addition, the DNA of the skin cells could be dissolved, which will result in damaged cells.

Hydrogen peroxide

Just like alcohol, hydrogen peroxide is used to prevent infections from cuts and burns, but it cannot treat facial skin problems, such as blemishes or breakouts. Hydrogen peroxide can burn and blister the skin, and can also cause inflammation and allergic reactions. So, you must try to keep this ingredient away from your face.

Hot water

Moisture is essential for your skin, but applying hot water will result in eliminating the moisture from it. Hot showers can remove the protective layers and will soften natural oils, resulting in dry and patchy skin. More oil is produced by your body when you have naturally oily skin and its dried by the hot water.

Petroleum Jelly

In addition, petroleum jelly can treat bites and cuts, and also moisturize dry skin, but applying it to your face could damage it even more. Even that the jelly moisturizes the skin, it seals in debris, and even dirt, which could further blemish and dry the skin.
This is a list of all the things you should avoid applying to your face. You must treat your skin gently and carefully, by applying DIY products which must not contain any of the above mentioned ingredients.
The wisest thing to do, and the most effective is to wash your face every day with lukewarm and to never leave make up overnight. You must also avoid touching your face as much as possible and check the ingredients of any DIY that you buy to find that it’s free of any of the above mentioned ingredients.
